14 mountains higher than 8000m

All world's 14 highest (over 8000m) mountains are in Himalaya. Himalaya is a massive mountain range in Asia that separates Indian peninsula from Tibetan plateau. The best time to climb most of these mountains is April-May, just before the monsoon starts. At that time the weather is rather stable but do not exclude storms either. As usual in all mountains the weather is sometinmes very unpredictable and can change in an instant.

Only very few people have been able to climb all 14 over 8000m mountains. The first person to accomplish that is Italian climbing legend Rheinhold Messner who in 1986, after 16 years of climbing, reached his last summit, Lhotse. The most remarkable thing was that he reached all these summits without supplementary oxygen!
